Sam’s tantrums

So Sammy has now hit that enjoyable tantrum stage. I’m not sure if it’s easier second time round or it’s just that Sam’s tantrums are so much more comical! For example last night Sam didn’t want to have a bath. He was disgustingly dirty so didn’t have a choice in the matter. So that began the tantrum. It lasted throughout bath time and all the time getting him into his jammies – which was a battle with him pulling his clothes off as fast as I could put them on! There was nothing I could do to calm him down, trying to cuddle just made it so much worse and ended up in quite a beating (me on the receiving end!)
Anyway, after he was dressed and still screaming I got a couple of his cuddly toys, turned my back to him and started to ‘play’ with them. When he realised he wasn’t getting my attention he tried screaming louder and increased his kicking and stamping. I carried on playing with the cuddly toys. He kept trying to see what I was doing but I kept my back to him. Then it went quiet. He stomped over to me, snatched the toys away from me stomped back and threw the toys in the corner! It was so funny and so adult like that I couldn’t help but laugh. And as soon as I did, he started laughing too.
He’s such a naughty boy!
